How to use rowupdating
Find Control("list Box Product"), List Box) If Not ddl Is Nothing Then ddl. Controls(0), Text Box) If Not price Is Nothing Then price. The hashtable contains former values of the row's cells.I have the following code below in my Grid View1_Row Updating event. Maybe after midnight today, or sometime this weekend. When I go to configure the datasource for my Object Data Source, on my first screen where I designate the business object, my dropdownlist is blank. Turns out getting the DAL, BLL, and the Object Data Souce in place, did the trick. Tracing the code, using both methods above, the value of the textbox is not being passed back; it doesn't appear in the newvalues either. That probably needs to be linked into the Object Data Source along my Get Products, as well as the Add Products, and Delete Product methods. Problem is, I don't have the time at the moment yet. And back to my original question, how to I get the new value? I have a gridview, go into edit mode, enter a value in a textbox, then click update. w=300" data-large-file="https://taditdash.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/debugger-inside-gridview-rowupdating-event.png? w=800" src="https://taditdash.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/debugger-inside-gridview-rowupdating-event.png? w=800&h=359" alt="Debugger Inside Grid View Row Updating Event" width="800" height="359" class="size-full wp-image-328" srcset="https://taditdash.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/debugger-inside-gridview-rowupdating-event.png?
I'm in a similar boat...almost the same conditions. NET 1.1 that the datagrid had something called a Currency Manager...it looks like the object still exists in 2.0.
If we move our mouse on to the variables, which hold the cell values, we can see the old value instead of new updated value (Refer the debugging Screen Shot at the Top).
before that i want just using Find control and casting and then retrieving all lot code. If values are same they could notify user to change the value(give new cell value).
I have a Grid View control and use old style manual binding with a Data Source property and invoke the Data Bind() method.
If you don't use one of the Data Source controls, you are required to handle the Row Updating event.
